Happy holidays from Fangasm! Whatever other holidays you’re celebrating this season, we hope you’re also celebrating what we all have in common – our love of Supernatural. And we hope you’re celebrating something else that we think is unique, special and important: Fandom.
As the last stop in the 2013 convention tour, the Creation Supernatural convention in Burbank last weekend was invested with a lot of emotion, for both fans and cast. It’s been a wild ride, and there’s something bittersweet about the year ending. That gave Burcon an extra emotional punch, and more than a few moments that had us tearing up a bit. Here are some of the highlights of the con for us, including some meet and greet tidbits and pre-con chats.
We’ve been in love with this Show and part of this amazing fandom for eight years. It’s been eight years of incredible highs and more than a few painful lows, but – improbably perhaps — we’re still here. Still in love with Supernatural and still grateful to be part of the best fandom in the world. So we wanted to take a few minutes and say thank you.
Four years ago, New Jersey was a small con. It was also Misha’s first con and the birthplace of SPN Karaoke (no assigned seats – hell no seats at all!!). The little con has come a long way! Though we think that poster of Jared hanging above Matt Cohen’s head has been to every single con since the first one. Not that we’re complaining about that…
We’ve been loving all the great reports from VegasCon, and the amazing photos that have been posted – thank you, fandom, for always sharing the pretty. This con had so many great moments, both onstage and off. We caught up with fangirl and fanboy friends from all over the world, relishing in the ability to have actual face to face conversations over lunch instead of just exchanging 120 character tweets or occasional email or facebook exchanges. Cons are wonderful for the chance to see the guests up close and sort-of-personal, but they’re at least as wonderful for the chance to connect with other fans and share your enthusiasm for Supernatural.
To celebrate hellatus almost being over and the imminent return of Supernatural to our screens, we’re posting a few more chats from Chi Con. First up, Chad Lindberg.
Matt Cohen in Toronto
Greetings from Chilly Chicago! So far enjoyed an interesting Q&A from Rick Worthy, who claims not to wear boxers OR briefs (….) and had a lovely lunch with Chad Lindberg. When we talked to Matt Cohen and Richard Speight in Toronto two weeks ago, they were both lamenting the fact that Chad wasn’t there to join them for karaoke. Well, the good news is — he will be joining them tonight. Crowd surfing, anyone?? Read more →

We had the chance to sit down with Matt Cohen at the Nashville Con earlier this month, and once again had a thoroughly enjoyable chat. Matt (along with Misha Collins and Chad Lindberg) had just returned from the Rising Con in Brazil, where he had a great time with fans — but endured a few culinary challenges. Read more →
Fangasm! is all about pushing boundaries and frequently stomping all over them in our pursuit of the “truth” about fandom. So who better to talk boundaries with than actor Chad Lindberg. He’s pushed quite a few of his own lately.

We sat down with Chad fresh on the heels of filming his comeback turn on Supernatural. He got the news that he’d be back on the show while finishing work on I Spit On Your Grave, and it caught him a bit off guard.
